Commercial Projects

North Coast Co-op

The new North Coast Co-op building offers more than 5 times the space of the old location, taking up an entire city block in Eureka, CA.

The $9 million project utilized sustainable materials and practices to expand and reinvent an old Big Loaf bakery building on the property; three of the original walls and the trusses from the bakery building were used.  The full structure required the abandonment of a city alley and the reroute of a major city sanitary sewer line down US-101/4th Street.

Bear River Pump & Play Fuel Station

A complete fuel station with convenience store was constructed next to the existing Bear River Casino and Hotel in Loleta, CA.

WEI provided full civil engineering services for the $2.5 million dollar fuel station project.  Services included site improvement engineering plans, bid-ready drawings, and construction coordination/inspections.

Cinema West Theaters

Three screening rooms were added to the classic Fortuna Theatre without affecting the charm of the original historic building.

WEI went on to design theatre additions, seating platform remodels, and other renovations to Cinema West theaters in Fairfax, Angels Camp, Boyes Hot Springs, Martinez, Petaluma, Livermore, Sonoma, and Tiburon.

Kuleto Estate Winery

Whitchurch Engineering made this unique multi-tiered old world estate possible through innovative structural solutions.

The Kuleto Estate winery construction was stalled due to a cost-prohibitive design when WEI joined the project. WEI provided structural engineering and construction assistance that made it possible to complete the project on time and on budget. The Kuleto Estate presented some design challenges due to its unique rock-clad exterior and its location on a hill overlooking Napa Valley and Lake Hennessey.

Our client was impressed with our knowledge, professionalism, and responsiveness to the project's special design requirements.
